Quattro...

Four wheels that stick to the road. Real value of it can be seen in real life. While most reviewers often say that TT is too neutral, to safe, not thrilling and such, they forget that cars are driven by normal people who are no driving experts. What happens in real life is that car like Audi TT is superior in handling in hands of normal people.

I stumbled on this video where you can clearly see what happens if someone tries to outrun an Audi TT quattro during rain in curves. Quattro was invented and put into use to make this possible. No need to speak in technical language to see what all wheel drive does. Just see and judge for yourself... Look why Audi TT is one of the safest cars ever built.

I only hope that guy in BMW wasn't hurt too much...

Well, there is a little story about this car. This car is made with big passion and excitement, I believe someone had a dream and made it real and reachable for everyone.

Audi TTs 2008-2009 with S tronic were being recalled due to faulty temperature sensor in transmission. However, seems that second recall involving (again!) vehicles with S tronic transmission due to some performance problem. Audi TT 2007-2009 models are apparently involved to some faulty component in Mechatronic unit. Seems to me that good old manual transmission is the winner in reliability!

Wander who produces this components for Audi TT? Looks like they should work more on quality engineering....

I'm thinking to make this blog more socialy oriented with some sort of social network ability. I wonder if it would be reasonable to put something like Google Friends connect? This thing has lots of potential like rating of pages or even items. Whoever gets here would be able to do a lot, like sharing their videos, thoughts and other stuff... If you search an Audi TT you must have seen this. Smart search engines recognize typos. Which happen when Audi TT  gets searches 3.350.000 monthly!

Auti tt, audii tt, auddi tt, audie tt, and auidi tt with adui tt are top five! Typos are mostly made by Germans (54%).

Not surprisingly, they search most informations on Audi TT cars. Second place is United Kingdom (30%) and third United States (16%). So, this gives also good image who shares greatest interest for Audi TT (Auti TT ;-). Funny thing is that in Croatian (my native language) term Auti literaly means cars. So we can say that Audi = Cars. If we would let statistics speak... ;-)
I made small table with most frequent typos if you like semantic or defects analysis. Left column contains search phrase and right one monthly frequency. For example, "audii tt" is typed 1600 times in a month, "auti tt rs" got 110 searches.

Audi TT was invention by its own unique design. Just recently, it was first diesel powered sports car. Now, Audi TT is first quattro vehicle with electric engine in the world!

Graduate and undergraduate students from Georgia Tech University formed a racing team called Solar Jackets. In order to find new an creative ways to use solar power they modified and Audi TT 2001 model into what they call Solar-Assisted Electric Vehicle (SAEV). Powered by combination of solar cells and batteries Audi TT has range of 70 miles and can be recharched through normal electric outlet!

Keeping original Audi quattro transmission, reducing weight, and optimising aerodynamics, they managed to keep top performance. In order to prove capability of this vehicle they intend to race

on 2010 North American Solar Challenge and across Australia in the 2011 World Solar Challenge.

Further planned improvement are installation of lithium-ion batteries which should in turn further reduce weight and increase range to 120 miles.

Last week started with Audi TT featured as gameseat for Grand Turismo 5 on Gamescom hooked up with Playstation 3. With attached hidraulics and smoke, this should be awesome experience (guess what's the price is?).

Second news was recall announced by Audi USA for vehicles with troublesome s-tronic transmission. Not really dangerous, but annoying problem manifest as warning flashing and eventual slipping to neutral. Models involved are Audi TT Coupe and Roadster make 2008-2009. Audi TT RS got some steroids. This 340 bhp beauty with Sportec tuning original 4.6 seconds to 62 mph drops down to 4.2 seconds! Five cilynders baby beats inhouse R8 (with 420 bhp and 4.6 seconds to 62 mph) with simple ECU upgrade. How much of a hairdresser car is it now?

Audi recalls Audi TT Models 2008-2009 with S tronic transmission

 Audi TT Coupe and Roadster models with S tronic transmission built between September 2008 and August 2009 are being recalled.

Owners of affected vehicles may notice warning flashes in the dashboard, and rarely slipping of transmission into “neutral”. More information from Volkswagen which has same problem on some of its vehicles reveals that probable root cause is faulty temperature sensor.

Company announces that they will contact owners of respective vehicles in forthcoming weeks. Over a quarter involved vehicles are in stock and will be inspected and repaired before delivery.

Recommendation is that you contact your dealer ASAP, and in case you have some additional questions you can call Audi Customer Relations Campaign Help Line at 1-800-253-AUDI (2834).
